Living life to the fullest, a cliche you might hear occasionally. Often it is intended to make you feel better at a time you might be feeling down. Being in the senior care industry, this is something we refer to frequently. It is important for everyone to feel fulfilled in their daily life, no matter what stage or circumstances you might be in.
We get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the day, we often forget to look at the wonder of our everyday world. No matter how old you are or what your circumstances are, can you remember the last time you walked in the park? Played on the swings? Stopped to notice the rose which is blooming for the first time this year? These are wonders which surround us day after day.
The morning before the sunrises, is a wonderful time to see the world at its purest form. No cars rushing by, no list of things to do, just the morning darkness filled with birds welcoming a new day. The morning sun creating a sky full of newness with a fresh feeling of the bigger world around us. This is just one of the many things that happen every day. Whatever your circumstances, there are things every one of us can enjoy if we open our eyes to new possibilities.
Sometimes life throws us a curve ball which curtails these activities. When this happens, we may want to take another look at our current reality. Every day we have moments which bring light to our world. It is only times where the big dreams are either off the table entirely or so far out of reach that we stop to see the smaller things. Life can be full of small amazing moments if you are open to it.
If exotic vacations are not in your future, try playing a game with a young child. Take a walk at one of the many trails around the area. Take an art class or any class which teaches you something new. Pull out an old photo album to reminisce about the days of old. Build a puzzle, read a novel or paint something new. Have a long chat with a close friend. There are so many wonderful activities to occupy your time which will bring joy to your everyday.
So live life to the fullest, in whatever way life makes available to you. Start each day with a fresh new outlook. Today could be the best day of your life.
