Home care across Berks County
Our office is at 225 N. Kenhorst Blvd. in Reading, and our caregivers drive their own cars to clients across the county. Type your town and get a plain answer.
The full list of towns is further down the page. If you'd rather ask a person, 610-796-4737 is answered day or night.
How we decide whether we come to your town
Berks County is the answer, and we've reviewed it regularly since 2003 because the county is big. Lenhartsville in the north to Birdsboro in the south is about 45 minutes on a good day. A far corner comes down to which of our caregivers live near you, because a caregiver who drives 45 minutes each way to a short visit won't do it for long, and we'd rather tell you that than send someone who quits in March.
Call and say the town. Whoever answers knows where the caregivers live and will tell you yes, no, or "let us check," and check means a day, not a week.
What about Denver, Pottstown, and the county lines?
Adamstown, Denver, Reamstown, Reinholds, Stevens, and Leola are over the line in Lancaster County, and they've been on our list for years. Call and say the town, and we'll match a caregiver who lives that direction.
To the east, we're now serving the Pottstown, Boyertown, and Sanatoga area, across the Montgomery County line. Call 610-796-4737 and the first visit is free.
Inside a facility counts as home
If your mother lives in a personal care home, assisted living, or a long-term care facility anywhere in Berks County, a caregiver of ours can come to her room there. Right now our caregivers work in most of the larger long-term care communities in the county, sitting with residents at lunch, walking them to activities, and giving them the one-on-one afternoon the floor staff doesn't have time for.
Two other local facts worth having. The Berks County Area Agency on Aging is at 610-478-6500, and it's the right first call if Medicare or Medicaid is what your family has to work with, because we can't accept either. And Berks Encore runs senior centers around the county where a parent can spend a morning with other people, which is sometimes the help that's actually needed. Both are on our community partners page.
Reading and the boroughsRowhouses, twins, and the personal care homes between them. Our caregivers work in most of the larger long-term care communities in the county.
