What should I have ready?
For the first call, nothing. What happened and where you live is enough.
For the visit, be ready to share
- What is working for you and what is not
- What the regular routine is
- What the hard parts are. The shower, the stairs, the stove, the nights
- What concerns you have
What you don't need
A diagnosis, a doctor's order, or a decision. The visit is for listening, gathering information, and understanding how we can help. If you decide you're not ready, no problem. Call us back when you are.
Which kind of care is this?
You don't have to know before you call, but if you'd like to read first, the four most common reasons families reach us each have a page. Elder care at home for the everyday things that got harder. Family respite care for a break from caring. Transition home care for the weeks after a hospital or rehab stay. Memory care at home for a parent with dementia. And the questions families ask most, answered in the first sentence.
"Great place, amazing nice workers."
